How to set up and customize a Wooclap event?

A Wooclap event is an interactive session (a lesson, a training, a conference, etc.) consisting of two tabs:

  • the Live Session tab that allows you to ask questions in real-time

  • the Self-paced Session tab, in which you can create an asynchronous questionnaire for your participants and share files

Create engaging events and customize them to your audience, to create a unique experience every time.

To make sure to have the best Wooclap experience, all those settings are available for every event and question.

Keep in mind that some settings won't apply to both Live sessions and Self-paced sessions.

On your Wooclap event page, you can access the ⚙️ Settings tab on the top right of your screen.

Settings are divided in six different categories to help you get a better view of your work. Simply click on the arrow on the right to open a tab.

Interactivity

  • Competition mode: Want to make your event more engaging? Turn your event into a competition.

  • Add a timer to all questions : Improve everyone's focus by limiting the time they have to answer questions.

  • Answer as a group: You can separate your audience into different teams and let your participants collaborate and send answers as a group.

  • Display answers automatically: This setting allows you to show the answers received in real time, when launching your question. However, if you want to show the answers only after everybody has answered, make sure that this setting is turned off.

  • Let participants signal if they are confused: This feature is very useful to measure the level of understanding of your audience in real-time.

Authentication

  • Authentication: Ask your audience to authenticate with their email address, with their Socials or with their SSO/ Institution login. If you select this option, users will need to create a free Wooclap account.

  • Participant pseudonym: You can ask your participants to join the event with submitting their name or a username. This option allows participants to join without creating a Wooclap account.

  • Display participant usernames: As described, this will display the participant's username only on the Message Wall and in the Open Questions.

  • Attendance sheet: Use this feature to take attendance before the event.

Message Wall

You can use the Message Wall to let your audience interact with you during your presentation.

Theme

Personalize your Wooclap event appearance by adding your logo and graphical charter. Customize your sessions with unique designs.

Participant devices

  • Answers by Web : Let your audience answer your questions using an internet connection

  • Answers by SMS : Allow your audience to answer your questions using SMS

Results

  • Reports: After your event, you can consult and download your event reports in Excel or PDF files. Note that Wooclap users with a free account cannot download the reports, but they are still available to view.

  • Reset event answers: Use this function to clear the data (answers and messages) you collected during tests or previous sessions. This action is irreversible.

Note that if you want to view or reset the results of a questionnaire, you need to go to the Self-paced Session tab.

Eureka! You have gone through all the settings of a Wooclap event. You are now ready to build your own Live sessions or interactive questionnaires.
