Updated over a month ago

Brainstorming is an effective tool that helps individuals and teams generate creative ideas, solve problems, and collaborate efficiently on various topics.

This question type is available for all Wooclap users.

Steps to create and run effective brainstorming sessions with Wooclap

Create a Brainstorming

As with any other question, start by selecting New question when you are editing your event. You can then choose Brainstorming under Gather Feedback.

Looking for inspiration? Head over to the template page and download one of the existing templates for the Brainstorming question type!

You can also import an already created Brainstorming question from our Examples gallery. Head on to Examples gallery and choose Brainstorming under Question type. You can then add the Brainstorming of your choice to your event.

You can even create your Brainstorming question using AI. Discover how to use Wooclap AI here.

Customize the Brainstorming

Once you have opened your Brainstorming question, you can personalise it so it suits your course or training.

Start by adding instructions or a title to your question (1). This will guide participants when adding answer to the Brainstorming.

Next, define categories within which participants will leave their answers (2). You can decide to add more categories (3) or delete them (4).

You can choose two additional options for your Brainstorming question:

  1. Likes on Answers so that participants can like each other's answers

  2. A timer to automatically start when the question is displayed

When you are done preparing your question, you can either click on Save or Display now at the bottom of the screen to launch your Wooclap event.

Launch the Brainstorming

Once you have clicked on Display now or Display, the question you have prepared will appear on your screen. You can then invite your participants to join your event and add their answers to your Brainstorming question.

Answers sent by participants are immediately visible on the presenter's screen.

You can choose to display only certain categories of answers by toggling them on the left side of the screen. You can create new categories by clicking on Add category.

When displaying the results of the brainstorming, you can move post-it notes from one category to another - in case you believe they have been misplaced by participants - with a simple drag & drop gesture.

Additionally, you can focus on an answer or delete it with the options on the answer itself.

You can choose to show the answers sorted by categories or in a grid view.

You can also show the names of the participants when displaying the results! In order to do so, two conditions are required:

Edit your answers as a participant

As a participant you can:

  • Edit your answer

  • Delete your answer

  • Change the category of your answer

  • Only see your own answers. For this, the option Likes on Answer must be activated.
