Displaying participant names live on Wooclap
By default, participant names are not displayed in real-time to encourage student participation and provide a comfortable experience.
However, for Brainstorming, Message Wall, Open Questions, and Word Cloud, you can choose to display their usernames live if you wish.
Enabling the name display
Start by opening the event Settings ⚙️ (1). Under Authentication, enable either authentication or participant nicknames (2). You can then toggle the option Display participant usernames (3).
Viewing participant names
The visibility of names depends on the type of interaction and the layout you choose:
Open Questions and Word Clouds: Participant names will only be visible if results are displayed in List view. They will not be visible in Grid or Word Cloud views.
Message Wall: Similarly, the author of a message can only be seen in the default results display, not in the grid view.
Brainstorming: The participant's name will be visible across all display types (whether by category or grid).
