How to synchronise event results, attendance or participation with LTI 1.3

Learn how to synchronise results, attendance and participation with our LTI 1.3 integration.

Updated over 4 months ago

When you handle most of your sessions with a Learning Management System (LMS), it can be very useful to find the results of your Wooclap events there too. To do that, you simply need to activate an option in Wooclap in order to synchronise the data between the two platforms.

This feature is only available to members of an institutional plan who have integrated Wooclap into their LMS environment.

Add a Wooclap activity into your LMS

Log into your LMS account and choose the course in which you would like to add a Wooclap activity.

Click on Turn editing on and then click on Add an activity or resource and select the LTI 1.3 integration. A new window will appear where you will be able to name your Wooclap activity and add a description (the latter is optional).

You can either choose to import a quiz that you have previously created on, duplicate a Wooclap event from the activities you have already integrated into your LMS or create a brand-new Wooclap event if you leave None for both options. Finally, click on Save and display to automatically be redirected to the Wooclap interface.

Result, attendance or participation

Let's explore what we mean when we talk about result, attendance or participation.

  • Results are the points acquired based on the correctness of the answer. This is what we call score in Wooclap. In your LMS environnement, this is converted in percentage. Questions without a right answer (such as an Open question or a Word cloud) are not taken into account when calculating the results.

  • Attendance is only available if the attendance sheet is activated. Points for this are granted once the learner signed the attendance sheet. The participant will have 100% if they signed and 0% if they did not sign.

  • Participation is scored based on the number of questions the participant answered compared to the total number of questions requiring an answer. This score is converted in percentage in your LMS environnement.

Sync the results, attendance or participation

Once your session is over, click on Synchronise with LMS in the banner displayed on top of the interface.

You can choose to synchronise results, attendance or participation. Note that you can only synchronise one of the three.

The results, attendance or participation are now available in your LMS account, in the User report or under Grades. Remember that only one of the three grades can be synchronised and shown at a time.
