How to set up and personalize open questions in Wooclap for detailed responses?
The Open question allows you to gather detailed and qualitative information from participants by inviting them to provide their own thoughts, opinions, and explanations in an unrestricted manner. Open-ended questions are designed to encourage free-form responses.
Create an Open question
As with any other question, start by selecting New question when you are editing your event. You can then choose Open question under Assess Understanding.
Looking for inspiration? Head over to the template page and download one of the existing templates for the Open question type!
You can also import an already created Open question from our Examples gallery. Head on to Examples gallery and choose Open question under Question type. You can then add the Open question of your choice to your event.
Customize the Open question
Once you have opened your Open question, you can personalize it and tailor it to your needs. Start by adding the question you want to ask. (1)
You can optionally add one or several correct answers to the question (2). If so, participants will be graded on their answer(s).
☝️ If you have more than one correct answer, make sure you press the Enter button after each answer.
Eight options are available in the right-hand side menu:
Maximum number of characters
Likes on answer
Allow images
Ignore accents
When you are done preparing your question, you can either click on Save or Display now at the bottom of the screen to launch your Wooclap event.
Launch the Open question
Once you have clicked on Start event or Display, the question you have prepared will appear on your screen. You can then invite your participants to join your event and answer.
The results view per default is the grid view. It is also possible to display the results as a list or as a Word Cloud.
