How to use Moderator Mode to edit and delete messages

Moderator Mode allows you to manually approve or reject responses and questions submitted by your participants. This feature is available for users with a Pro subscription or an institutional subscription.

☝️ This article concerns our Moderator Mode, which allows you to moderate the message wall. You can find out how to moderate a Word Cloud or an Open Question in this article.

☝️ This mode is the same as the presenter view that you will see when you upload a presentation to Wooclap.

Open the Moderation Interface

To access the moderation interface, go to My Events and click on the three dots next to the event you want to moderate (1). Select the Moderate option (2).

☝️ The moderator interface will appear on your screen. Remember to have a second screen available to present the event to your participants!

This interface allows you to control your presentation from another computer (1) and filter audience messages (2) before displaying them on screen. You can control the questions of your live sessions (3) and add notes to your presentation (4).

Categorize Messages

You can categorize messages to better structure your Q&A sessions. To do this, you must have activated the message wall.

Once you are in the Messages tab, click on the gear ⚙️ icon in the top right (1). Here you can also choose to display the message wall. You can activate categories (2) and name them (3).

Check the box next to a category to display it on the screen (4). If you click on the name of a category, you will see the messages it contains. If you check the box next to its name, you will display this category on the screen.

Add a message to a category by clicking on the "+" button of the corresponding color (5). Use the other buttons to archive, edit, and display a message in full screen.

Start a Live Session

You can start your live session by clicking on the Votes tab of the moderation screen (1). Then choose the question you want to display on the projected screen (2).

Once the question is displayed, you can choose to show the results, allow participants to answer, and display the correct answer (3).

When you want to return to your slides (and no longer display a question), click on the current (or next) slide.

💡 Some useful keyboard shortcuts

  • Enter: show/hide results

  • Up/Down or Left/Right Arrow Keys: change slide

  • Space: start or stop responses

  • Esc: return to the main interface

Notes

Under the Notes tab you can see the comments you have added to your presentation.
