Integrating Wooclap in your PowerPoint presentations
Get the best of both worlds by using the Wooclap PowerPoint add-in to insert real-time interactions into your PowerPoint files and combine your favorite PowerPoint features with the efficiency of Wooclap’s interactivity! This feature is available to all Wooclap users.
Install the add-in
First, open your PowerPoint presentation and click on the Add-ins button in the Home tab. Click on More Add-Ins and search for Wooclap. Then, click on Add and accept the terms and conditions to start using the add-in.
☝️ On some versions of PowerPoint, the Add-ins button can be found by clicking Insert (from the toolbar) ➡️ Add-Ins ➡️ Get Add-ins. Search for Wooclap and click on Add...
☝️ Note that Wooclap only integrates with PowerPoint version 15 (2013) on Windows, the online version, as well as with version 16 (2016) if you have an Office 365 subscription. Version 16 on Windows and Mac may also work, but this is not guaranteed. Other versions of PowerPoint can be tested, but their compatibility with Wooclap is not guaranteed. To find out more - and especially to find out how to solve problems related to an incompatible version - you can read this article.
If you use a different version of PowerPoint, you can always insert your questions by uploading your presentation on Wooclap.
Log in to Wooclap
To connect your Wooclap event to your presentation, you will be asked to log in. Simply click on the Start button on the displayed page and log in via your preferred method.
💡 If you don't immediately see the full log-in options, adapt the size of the add-in to your presentation surface.
☝️ If you already have multiple Wooclap questions in your presentation, you just have to log in once. Once you've entered your credentials, close your presentation and reopen it; all the questions will be synced up.
Use the add-in
Once you logged into your Wooclap account, you can add or create your question from scratch. You can further edit an existing question or change a question you have selected.
Adding a question
Use the left part of the interface to navigate through the list of your events. Once you have chosen the event you would like to integrate into your PowerPoint presentation, select the question you would like to add by simply clicking on it.
💡 You can add several questions by duplicating or copying and pasting the slide before inserting your Wooclap question. You can now duplicate this slide as many times as needed to insert the Wooclap questions you would like to integrate into your presentation. Once that is done, all you have to do is select the question you would like to insert into the slide and place it in the presentation.
Creating an event and a question
To easily create a Wooclap event within the PowerPoint interface, click on Add-ins, then select the Wooclap icon. Once the Wooclap page appears, click on Create event and name your Wooclap event. When you've found the perfect name, click on the Create event button.
It’s also possible to create a Wooclap question directly inside PowerPoint. Enter the event you want to add a question to, click on New question, select the question you would like to add, and modify it to your needs. You can now click on Save.
Edit an existing event or question
Further, there is no need to go back to Wooclap to edit your questions and event settings; you can do this directly from PowerPoint. You can perform almost all actions related to the creation and editing of a Wooclap event directly within your work environment, without having to switch between a Wooclap tab and your PowerPoint presentation.
Change a question
Not sure if the question you have added is the right one? You can directly change the question from the add-in. Simply click on Select another question, and you will be redirected to your event's screen, where you can choose another question.
Present your event on PowerPoint
Once you have inserted all of your questions to create a PowerPoint quiz, start your presentation as usual. When you reach a question, click the Play ▶️ button at the center of the screen to open the vote. The audience will then be able to send their answers, which will be displayed in your interactive PowerPoint presentation in real-time.
Some remarks
We do not recommend inserting questions from different events into the same PowerPoint file - participants will have to connect to another link during the presentation, and it may lead to confusion.
We do not recommend inserting the same question into the same PowerPoint file more than once - the second time you display the question, it will already contain answers, and participants won't be able to answer the question a second time.
The Message wall is not available through the PowerPoint add-in, but you can ask an open question to which the audience can respond in full sentences
You can't publish a Participant pace questionnaire from the PowerPoint add-in. You must log in to your account and publish it from there
The language of the PowerPoint add-in matches the one on your Wooclap account. You can modify it by going to the settings of your account
