Identify participants in Wooclap: Pseudonyms and authentication options
Participating in a Wooclap event is anonymous by default, but if you'd like to know who sent in which answer to a specific question, or find out who asked a certain question through the message wall, you have two options: either activate pseudonyms or authentication options.
Note that, whichever option you choose, you must activate it before inviting students to connect to the event!
☝️ The features described in this article do not apply to SMS text participants. If you would like to identify SMS text participants, we recommend creating an open question in which you ask them to identify themselves. You will then be able to see who answered what by checking the grid of results.
💡 If you do not activate authentication, participants will be shown as Anonymous in your reports.
💡 Activating the Attendance sheet does not count as an authentication method. If you activate the attendance sheet without authentication, participants will also be shown as Anonymous in your reports.
Participant pseudonyms
First, go to the ⚙️ Settings (1) of your event. Then, you will be able to activate Participant pseudonym (3) under Authentication (2).
Once participants connect to your event, they will then be able to fill in a username of their choice.
💡 Participants will also be able to log in to their Wooclap account. In this case, the name linked to their account will be displayed.
Other Authentication options
By turning on the authentication, participants will be required to log in using email, social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Google or Microsoft), or the SSO of your organisation depending on the login methods you select
Just like previously, start by going to your event's ⚙️ Settings (1) and select Authentication (2). You will then be able to select the login method (3).
In this case, participants will be asked to log in to their Wooclap account. They can stay logged in to their account if they already did so previously.
